Migrant Opens Fire at ICE Office in Dallas Before Taking His Own Life

Three people were injured in a shooting at a building affiliated with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Dallas. Shortly afterward, one of the victims died. According to a spokeswoman for the Department of Homeland Security, there were no casualties among law enforcement officers, and some of the victims were detained migrants.

According to the preliminary investigation unit, a man opened fire from a government building adjacent to an ICE facility. Officers from the North Stemmons Freeway area were called to respond. The incident left three people injured, and the shooter was killed. A spokesperson for the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department reported that the department received a report of a shooting near the ICE office.

Parkland Hospital received the injured, but the hospital spokesperson did not provide any information about their condition or the extent of their injuries. According to the Secretary of Homeland Security, investigations are revealing details of the incident, and it has so far been confirmed that there were multiple victims, both killed and injured. The Secretary also spoke about the increasing attacks targeting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel, referring to the shooting at the Brierland detention center in Texas two months ago, which injured a police officer in the neck.

The latest incident comes amid growing anger over President Donald Trump’s policies toward migrants, particularly the mass deportations of undocumented immigrants. In recent months, violence against ICE has been on the rise. Previously, Dallas city leaders pledged to resist ICE operations, and some leaders described the agency as “Nazi-like,” acting outside the law.

Investigators found a bullet casing marked “Against ICE.” The ICE head in Dallas also noted the rise in anti-law enforcement rhetoric, stating, “This must stop. It is dangerous, and people are losing their lives.” He added, “These incidents must end. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, together with our partners, will lead this investigation to ensure that those who target our law enforcement agencies are held fully accountable.”
